"The intellectual is constantly betrayed by his vanity. Godlike he blandly assumes that he can express everything in words; whereas the things one loves, lives, and dies for are not, in the last analysis completely expressible in words." --- Anne Morrow Lindbergh
I knew you for such a short time and you left big impression on me as a 12
year old. I like hearing about your life.
Take care, Eleanor

Do you have thoughts on how it feels to be the oldest one at the party, in the room, in the neighborhood, in the church, in the car?
John:
It is a rare occasion when I am not the oldest in the room or anyplace else. But it is better than not being in the room or anyplace else. Then again, I take some comfort in knowing that those younger will have their turn in being the oldest in the room, neighborhood, church or car.

I didn't take your test but about 5 days ago I downloaded the years top songs from 1940 - 1970 and had a whole fistful of stuff. Friday night I printed out two or three years and had great fun with my company who went over the list and tried remembering the words to all kinds of great stuff that we thought we forgot. Do you remember MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC? How about O WHAT YOU DO TO ME!
From John:
I remember those songs, as well as many others.
If you enjoy quizzes, you might enjoy the following (see the main page):

My cousin served in Iraq for over a year and though I worried about him, it wasn't nearly as devasting on me as it was his father. I remember my uncle was constantly talking about him and thinking about him, praying that he would come home all right. There were even a couple times he thought he saw him in a newspaper picture and would have a panic attack if it was really him or not. It seems like no one ever really appreciates anything until they are personally touched by the situation or event. Though I also hope that as people celebrate this day, and as they barbeque and get their last minute sales they remember what it means. My cousin did come home safely and lucky for us, he decided he would stay home this time. Happy Memorial Day to all of our brave soliders who fight for us.

Thanks to the doctors, stents, meds and Family. Since 2003 I have seen both grandchildren's weddings, our 50th wedding anniversary, our first great-grandchild, Ethan, and was bribed by family with vacations to the beach after more surgeries. Life is precious. Thank you John

If newscasters are like cars and you're car hunting, best check the mechanics before the grade of leather. Too old to be stranded roadside in a luxury car and too old to settle for nice hair/teeth, cutesy/shallow rhetoric when our country is being dismantled right before our eyes? Adios, Charlie. Try Fox.

Received email about love from child's perspective. My favorite: "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." How true, and how fortunate most of us are to have captured those happiest memories for future recall.
